In East Tennessee there is a saying which goes "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." Although health and wisdom are not guaranteed, the beauty of the day's first light glistening on the dew covered countryside will surely enrich the beholder. "Early to Rise", the watercolor by Jim Gray, is a visual definition of the Ben Franklin proverb from which the title came.
